Restoration
What does this mean for me?

Admit
We must see ourselves as broken and sinful and stop trusting in ourselves as the solution to the problem.

Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered.
Proverbs 28:26

Repent (Do a 180 change)
We must ask God to forgive us and turn away from sin to trust only in Jesus to save us.
Jesus says, “The time has come. The kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe the good news!” Mark 1:15

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not of result of works, so that no one may boast.
Ephesians 2:8,9

Believe
We must ask God to forgive us and turn away from sin to trust only in Jesus to save us.
Jesus says, “The time has come. The kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe the good news!” Mark 1:15

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9
For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
Romans 10:10

What happens if I believe?

God restores his relationship with us and we begin to follow him. We begin to pursue his design and purpose for us in both words, actions, and thoughts.

For it is God who work in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
Philippians 2:13

So I won’t sin anymore?

Just as children disobey their parents, God’s children (us!) still sometimes sin. God changes our desire that we now hate sin and wish to be delivered from it and seek to follow God’s will for our lives.

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
2 Corinthians 5:17

What happens when I die?

While we all deserve to go to hell because of our sins, Christians have the assurance of now going to heaven instead. Heaven is a place without sin and will be our eternal home of everlasting peace and joy with our Heavenly Father.

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.
Revelation 21:4
